SPAY AND NEUTER CLINICS
FERAL CATS
Free Spay/Neuter for Ferals is offered by the Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society: www.mrfrs.org. MRFRS offers Sunday spay/neuter program for feral cats to sterilize and vaccinate as many feral cats as possible. Clinics are free, donations welcome. Cats can get pregnant at 5 months, so don't delay.
Qualified Cats
- Homeless, unowned, free-roaming un-socialized feral.
- At least 4 lbs. (due to the anesthesia used).
- Appears healthy.
- To be released into its home colony, which will be managed.
Non-Qualified Cats
- Owned or possibly owned.
- To be adopted out or in foster care awaiting placement.
- To be euthanized by an animal control facility.
- Does not appear healthy.
People associated with the Clinics do not trap, lend traps or advise how to trap.
Clinic treatments include: A brief examination, spay/neuter, rabies and distemper vaccines, flea and earmite treatments, and the left ear is tipped (3/8" is taken off the top of the ear) for identification that the cat has been sterilized and vaccinated. No other diagnostic services or treatments are given. Tests for FIV and Feline Leukemia are not done.
Cats must be brought to and picked up at the Clinic site, which varies month to month. The cats must be in a trap (no cat carriers) and have not eaten in the last 12 hours.

Squeeky's Story
Squeeky was abandoned in Haverhill where a kind person found her in her hallway
and held on to her and gave her a bath until ARMV could get her into a foster. She is a spitfire! She was adopted quickly and is happy in her new home.
