VOLUNTEERS! WE NEED YOU NOW!
Won't you help Animal Rescue Merrimack Valley help the animals? We have lots of volunteer opportunities. Many of these positions require multiple persons to share the duties. Experience is not required. We will train you!

Volunteer coordinator: Monitors the volunteer email and voicemail, qualifies inquiring volunteers and directs them to the appropriate staff member.
Donation can coordinator: Keeps track of donation can locations, volunteers and pick-ups.
Donation can distribution and pick-up: Picks-up donations at current location of their choice and if possible, places cans in new locations and picks-up.
Adoption day coordinator: Coordinates adoption events at various locations.
Adoption day volunteer: Assists at events staffing the table and showing the cats and kittens to potential adopters.
Foster Home coordinator: Coordinates the foster homes, pairing up cats & kittens with appropriate foster homes and makes sure they have the information and supplies they need.
Adoption Coordinator: Organizes cats and kittens for adoption, makes vet appointments and keeps the cat's records organized, making sure photo's and bio's are posted on the website.
Adoption Approval Counselor: Approves adoption applicants and coordinates with the Adoption Coordinator and the foster home to complete the adoption.
Fundraising chairperson: Develops the fundraising plan and organizes the committees for the fundraising events.
Fundraising Committee people: We will be planning various fund raisers. Won't you join a planning committee?
Food barrel coordinator: Organizes the food barrel locations, pick-ups and distribution by volunteers.
Food barrel pick-up volunteer: Empties the food donation barrels in one or two locations and make sure they are clean and in good condition.
Thank you letter writer: This person will write thank you letters to donors.
Trapping and Rescue Coordinator: Checks the voice and email and refers the calls and emails to the appropriate person.
Voice Mail checker: Checks the voicemail and refers the calls to the appropriate person. Multiple persons are required to make sure calls are answered promptly.
Email checker: Checks the email and forwards to the appropriate person.
Trappers: Would you like to learn how to "humane trap" a cat and help get them neutered and off the streets? No experience necessary!
Feeders: There are feeding stations in various locations. Feeders choose one or two days per week and stock the feeding station and keep an eye on the cats.
Low cost spay/neuter coordinator: Sets up vet/clinic appointments for spay/neuter working with the Low-cost spay/neuter assistant.
Low-cost spay/neuter assistant: Answers emails and voice mails and phone/email people with appointments set up by the Low cost spay/neuter coordinator.
Spay/Neuter transport to vets / clinics: Picks up cats from those without transportation and bring them to the vet/clinic for spay/neuter or medical.

ARMV Volunteer of the Year
Lauren Downey received the first annual Volunteer of the Year Award from ARMV in May 2007.
Lauren has been working diligently trapping, neutering and releasing feral cats all over the Merrimack Valley.
